Investigating — We have received a number of reports from both staff and students (across several Moodle courses) who are receiving multiple copies of forum notifications. At first glance, this seems to be a reoccurrence of an issue that arose at the beginning of the month, however our Moodle hosts confirm that changes that were made to address this issue are still in place (so the cause of the current issue is as yet unknown). Investigations are ongoing and finding a solution remains a priority, however to reduce the impact upon those affected by the issue, we have taken the decision to disable all forum notifications until we are confident that the problem has been addressed. We are aware that Moodle announcements (and their associated email notifications) are heavily used throughout the year, so we’d like to apologise for any inconvenience that this may introduce and would like to reassure all users that we are working closely with our Moodle hosts to identify a solution at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime, please be aware that although you will still be able to post to a Moodle forum (and that these will be visible to any student who visits the forum), there will be no corresponding email notification at the moment.
