We will be standardising version history settings across University SharePoint sites and OneDrive accounts from Tuesday 10 November 2026.

Following this change, SharePoint and OneDrive will retain up to 30 previous versions of each document for a maximum of 365 days. Older document versions outside these limits will be removed.

The latest version of each document will not be affected, and no service downtime is expected. Users will continue to access and edit files as normal.

This change will provide clear and consistent version history settings across the University, while reducing the storage used by older document versions and supporting the long-term sustainability of our Microsoft 365 services.
