File Storage - Phased Migration (April)

We are carrying out a phased migration of on-campus file storage from our existing systems to new storage solution. This work will take place over several weeks and may cause planned, temporary disruptions to some shared file services.
This migration moves file storage onto a modern, fully supported platform, improving reliability, security, and long-term sustainability of shared file services.
iTrent - Upgrade (ESS & MSS)

We will be performing an upgrade of the iTrent system.
During the upgrade window, both Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service (MSS) will be unavailable for up to 15 minutes. Users will be logged off at the start of the upgrade and will not be able to log in again until the work is complete.
This update includes routine fixes and an important legislative change to Statutory Sick Pay rules.
Network - Firmware Upgrade in Various Locations (Day 3)

Due to maintenance to maintain network security and stability, there may be brief losses of network connectivity in the following locations:
- 5W
- 6W
- 6WS
- 8W
- 9W
Disruption should be minimal, as devices will be moved between access points during the upgrade. However, some users may experience a short outage at some point during the process.
Files.Bath (Nextcloud) - Maintenance

We will be carrying out planned maintenance on Files.Bath (Nextcloud) on Wednesday 8 April from 07:00. During this time, the service will be unavailable for up to 2 hours.
This work involves moving the underlying data storage to a new platform. To complete this safely, Files.Bath will be placed into maintenance mode while a final data synchronisation and system reconfiguration takes place.

SAMIS - Annual Upgrade

SAMIS will undergo its annual spring upgrade, along with essential Oracle security patching, from 18:00 on Friday 10 April 2026 until Wednesday 15 April 2026.
During this period, SAMIS and SAMIS on the Web will be completely unavailable, including related services and integrations such as Moodle, timetabling, and Hub services.
All users are requested to log out before 17:00 on Friday 10 April to allow the upgrade to begin promptly and safely.
