Due to quarterly software and security updates to the underlying service infrastructure, Nextcloud (files.bath.ac.uk) will be briefly unavailable during this maintenance window.

This maintenance includes a platform upgrade and server restart to ensure the service remains secure, stable, reliable, and fully supported. A maintenance page will be displayed while the work is in progress.

We are carrying out a further phase of our on‑campus file storage migration from our existing systems to a new storage solution. This work may cause a planned, temporary disruption to access to departmental file storage.

On 14 September 2026, the University's Self-Service Portal will be updated with a refreshed design and an improved DDaT Support section to help users find services and support more easily.

The DDaT Support area will be reorganised by service type, such as accounts, storage, network connectivity, hardware, and software, rather than by task. Several forms will be moved or redesigned, and new request options will be introduced based on user feedback.

(CRIS), will be upgraded to a newer version during this maintenance window to ensure the system remains up to date with the latest fixes and improvements.

Mahara, the University's e-portfolio system, will undergo its annual upgrade in September to introduce a refreshed interface, new features, and platform improvements.

To prepare for the upgrade, Mahara will be unavailable from 15:00 on Friday 11 September 2026. Users should ensure they are logged out before this time to avoid any loss of unsaved work.
