We are carrying out a further phase of our on-campus file storage migration from our existing systems to a new storage solution. This work may cause planned, temporary disruption to departmental research file storage.

During the maintenance windows, the following X Drive locations will be synchronised and may be unavailable from 07:30 for up to two hours:

• 9 November 2026: X:\Education\ResearchProjects
• 10 November 2026: X:\Maths\ResearchProjects
• 11 November 2026: X:\Management\ResearchProjects
• 12 November 2026: X:\CompSci\ResearchProjects
• 13 November 2026: X:\ElecEng\ResearchProjects

During each migration, access to files within the affected location may be temporarily unavailable. Users will continue to access their files from the same X Drive location once the work is complete.

This migration moves departmental research data onto a modern, fully supported storage platform, providing encrypted data storage and improving the reliability, security, and long-term sustainability of University file storage services.
