As part of the Network Transformation programme and the planned retirement of the GlobalProtect VPN service, a policy will be implemented to prevent new client connections while allowing existing users (active within the last ~6 months) to continue accessing the service.

This change will be applied at the ClearPass authentication stage on 27 January 2026 and will be accompanied by an update to the GlobalProtect welcome page to highlight that the service is degraded and direct users to the University’s supported VPN service. This approach supports a controlled migration away from GlobalProtect while minimising disruption to current users.
