High-Voltage Maintenance – Network Services at Risk

The Campus Infrastructure department, working with specialist contractors, will be carrying out statutory high-voltage (HV) maintenance across several University substations. This essential work is required to ensure the ongoing safety and reliability of the University’s electrical infrastructure.

  • Saturday 02/05/2026, R Sub 07:00-12:00 (Chancellors Building, Campus Infrastructure) – K -Sub 12:30-17:30 (1 South, 2 South, The Woodlands)
  • Saturday 23/05/26 – D Sub 07:00-17:30 (No outages)
  • Saturday 20/06/26 – M Sub 07:00-12:00 (7 West, 8 West, 9 West, 10 West , West Car Park) and then S Sub 12:30 - 17:30 (The Quads).

While this is not an IT-led activity, this notice is being shared, as power interruptions may impact IT equipment that supports network services. As a result, Ethernet (wired) and Wi-Fi (wireless) services may be at risk during maintenance periods, as loss of power will affect network availability.
