The Campus Infrastructure department, supported by specialist electrical contractors, will be carrying out statutory high‑voltage (HV) maintenance across several University substations. This essential work is required to maintain the safety, compliance, and reliability of the University’s electrical infrastructure.

Although this work is not IT‑led, it may have an impact on IT and network services in affected buildings. Power interruptions during the maintenance windows may affect equipment that supports wired (Ethernet) and wireless (Wi‑Fi) connectivity, meaning network services may be at risk while work is underway.

Some areas may remain unaffected, and not all locations will experience outages. Where power is interrupted, network services may be temporarily unavailable until power is restored and systems recover.

We recommend users in affected buildings save their work in advance and plan accordingly. Updates will be provided via the status page if the expected impact changes.
