We will be introducing a security update to block device code authentication from off‑campus locations.

Device code authentication is commonly used to sign in on devices such as TVs, but it is increasingly being exploited in phishing attacks. This change helps protect user accounts by preventing this method from being used outside the University network.

Most users will not notice any impact. However, any services or devices that rely on this sign‑in method from off campus may no longer work.

There is no downtime expected, and this change will significantly improve protection against account compromise.
