Annual upgrade of the KxWelcome (Room Service) system to version 24.3. During the upgrade, the KxW database, client, and web applications (including student and staff portals) will be unavailable at various times. All work is expected to complete by the end of the working day.

Business Objects for SAMIS will be unavailable on Thursday from 08:00 to 17:00 while we apply an essential security patch to address a recently identified vulnerability. This work is required to ensure the continued security and stability of the service.

The REDCap server will be briefly restarted at 17:00 on 14 October to restore an automated job service following a certificate renewal. The system will be unavailable for a few minutes during this time.

Worktribe will be upgraded to version 2025.7. The staging environment will be updated first, followed by the live environment, which will be unavailable for around 2 hours.

Disruption should be minimal, as devices will be moved between access points during the upgrade. However, some users may experience a short outage at some point during the process.

We will be upgrading the network gateway serving these locations to improve connectivity, enhance security, and enable new features.

We will be applying a configuration change to improve performance across the University’s 6GHz Wi-Fi network. During this maintenance, all wireless users will experience a brief disconnection (up to one minute) as the new settings are applied.

This change is expected to significantly improve download speeds and overall Wi-Fi performance on 6GHz connections campus-wide. Wired connections will not be affected.

We are replacing end-of-life network equipment in this location to improve connectivity, security, and enable new features. Users may experience brief interruptions (around 1 minute) to wired and Wi-Fi connections during this upgrade.
